Traumatology-trauma sequelae

Trauma of the maxillo-cranio-orbito area is usually treated as an emergency. When, for various reasons, the trauma cannot be treated urgently, the correction must be delayed. The sequelae may involve the fronto-naso-orbito area, the maxilla, and the lower jaw. The execution of osteotomies (bony sections), the use of bone grafts taken from the patient or the use of biomaterials allows the morphological and functional reordering of the area affected by the trauma. Sometimes, trauma sequelae require repeated surgeries, particularly when occlusion, correct position of the teeth, is involved. After traditional reconstructive surgery, problems of the soft tissues can also benefit from lipostructure, grafting of autologous adipose tissue, which allows the restoration of facial volumes.
